Discover Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage, a mild, creamy blue-veined cheese that has held the PDO label since 1998. Produced in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Vercors, it is the reflection of a rich, unspoilt terroir, to be enjoyed from local producers.
Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage is much more than a cheese, it's an invitation to discover an exceptional terroir. Soft and creamy, this blue-veined cheese, awarded the AOP label in 1998, embodies quality and authenticity. Carefully crafted from the milk of local breeds of cow - Abondance, Montbéliarde and Villarde - it tells a story that goes back to the Middle Ages, when Vercors farmers transformed their milk into this precious cheese, "Bleu des Monts de Sassenage".
Nestled at an altitude of over 800 metres, the production area for this cheese is tucked away in the natural setting of the Vercors Regional Nature Park. With its verdant meadows and mountain farming, the Vercors offers unique conditions for the production of this cheese treasure. Local producers perpetuate this ancestral know-how, which you can discover right at the source.
Whether on a farm, in a restaurant or at the market, taste Bleu du Vercors-Sassenage and let yourself be enchanted by its softness and subtle notes.
