Built in 2012 on the former site of the TGV Sud-Est railroad, the housing and workshops are located on the Ecosite, a business park on the plains of Eurre, a hilltop village in the Drôme valley.
Just a stone's throw from the river, close to the Biovallée Campus and the Gare à coulisses - a street arts base, these pilot buildings line the Promenade des arts, a pedestrian circuit linking the banks of the Drôme to the trails of the Ramières nature reserve.
Here, at the initiative of the Communauté de communes du Val de Drôme, artists from a wide variety of backgrounds have taken up residence.
Garages A (from garages ateliers) is the association of resident artists and craftsmen. It federates their joint projects.
All year round, in windows visible from the Promenade, artists present their work: Sculpture, ceramics and design workshops, designer jewelry workshops, painting workshops, volume workshops and contemporary art workshops.
At the heart of the Ecosite cultural hub, Garages A works to create and produce cultural and artistic events, exhibitions, studio openings and concerts.
