Description
Situated in the Vercors Park between Valence and Grenoble, Royans offers visitors a wide range of cultural, climatic and landscape nuances.
Wild and proud, the Royans region is an ideal place for hiking, an effort rewarded by the discovery of unforgettable sites: Combe Laval, a spectacular, vertiginous road carved into the side of high cliffs: a listed site. The administrative center of the canton, St Jean en Royans grew out of a priory founded in the year 1000, in the heart of a rural region where walnut growing and the manufacture of wooden objects are local traditions.
