Montagnes de Garde Grosse DH de l'Essaillon
Discover the Garde Grosse mountain, which towers 944m above the town of Nyons. Enjoy magnificent views of the town, Mont Ventoux and the Baronnies. This is a technical tour, so stay focused and enjoy the thrills!
Point 1: Place de la libération/Office de tourisme (km0) Point 2: Carrefour de la citadelle (km 0.8 - 279m) After the tunnel, turn right and follow the red n°14 (in common with the black n°8). Follow the road up to Col de la Croix. Point 3: Col de la Croix (km 5.7 - 709m) Turn right towards the top of Garde grosse (Relais Telecom). Point 4: 2eme grande épingle (km 7.5 - 859m) Leave the road and take the path on the left to the flanks of Garde grosse mountain. Point 5: Route du col (km 9.9 - 540m) Return to the asphalt road. Turn right; after 300 m on the asphalt road, turn left. Take the long traverse de l'Essaillon. Point 6: Les Rieux (km 13.7 - 338m) Arrival on asphalt road. Turn left, back to Nyons.
