Description

This village perched on its rocky slope, once surrounded by ramparts, is famous for its production of fine lavender. Take the "cantons", the famous steep staircases, and follow the "Allons voir si la rose" trail, lined with over 70 rose bushes.

Valdrôme has tall terraced houses linked by these "cantons". It was awarded its first Villes et Villages fleuris in 2023. A number of themed trails offer a fun way to discover the village's secrets: fountains, gates, Ginette the postman's riddle, reading the landscape with the Bzitta bee, strolling along the river...
Don't look for the church, only the temple, the inhabitants having rallied early on to the ideas of the Protestant Reformation.

You can also take advantage of the town's various facilities, including rock climbing (on the old ramparts, now a climbing wall), archery (2 FFTA-certified courses), tennis and playgrounds.

In Valdrôme, a rural and unspoilt commune, lavender is cut later than in the rest of the Diois due to its altitude.
Pastoralism rubs shoulders with the Natura 2000 site, home to a glacial fir forest, the rare black grouse and the exuberant blooms of the protected peony, which can be admired from mid-May to mid-June.
