Le papillon de Rochefort-en-Valdaine

Le papillon de Rochefort is an extension of the small loop n°7 starting from the village of Rochefort-en-Valdaine. Sheltered from the wind, this loop winds its way through the massif around the iconic medieval castle.

Larger than its little sister "Montagne de la Série et Fontbrenoux", this loop allows you to explore another part of the forest massif around the Janeston. The Mediterranean vegetation is very much in evidence, the paths are stonier and the views more open; before returning to the starting village via a ridge.
