This long hike is one of the most beautiful in the Vercors. You'll gradually leave the slopes of the Col de Rousset resort behind, and join the great wild expanses of the Vercors Hauts-Plateaux. The forest gradually gives way to the mountain pastures and their bucolic atmosphere. As you climb towards Grand Veymont, the environment becomes increasingly mineral: this is the domain of the ibex, which you may be lucky enough to observe. The panorama from the summit is breathtaking.
