FabLabs are spaces open to the public,
equipped with numerically controlled machines
to create objects.

They are based on exchange, cooperation, interdisciplinarity, learning-by-doing, do-it-yourself, bottom-up and community-based innovative practices.

They are open to all, facilitating encounters and the development of innovative methods through the cross-fertilization of skills.

They are aimed at entrepreneurs who want to move more quickly from the concept to the prototype phase, as well as at anyone (designers, artists, students, DIY enthusiasts, etc.) looking to carry out projects themselves or in collaboration with others, and who can't do it at home or in their workplace.

Fablabs are based on a charter initiated by MIT (Massuchussets institute of technology). They form a very active worldwide network.
