Grotte de l'Ours

Description

It's a surprisingly diverse cave, ranging from narrow to imposing. It is home to some beautiful underground landscapes. It is used by caving guides who offer a fun underground "baptism".

The cave, also known as Grotte de la Sarna, has always been known for its first 80 meters. It served as a shelter for cave bears and a refuge for resistance fighters during the Second World War. Then, between 1967 and 1968, the Groupe Spéléo Valentinois (GSV) enlarged the final narrow passage, a real key to the entrance, leading to the discovery of a further 400 metres of beautifully calcified galleries. We recommend professional caving supervision.
