Description

This village is rich in history (Gallo-Roman site, castle of the Lords of Urre), heritage (Saint-Apollinaire church) and nature (near the Drôme and the Réserve des Ramières). It is an active agricultural and wine-growing commune.

An imposing stone mass seems to devour the village : the Urre Lords’s (private) castle, erected in the 11th century on the basements of the roman Horréa supply base, has been revamped in the 16th century, and adorned with mullet openings before its ramparts dismantling.
A mission cross was erected on a stone column surmounted by a capital with floral pattern by the Capuchin Fathers in 1747. Walk from the temple (1844) to the Saint Apollinaire Church (12th - 17th centuries) and take the Arcades street before getting down again to the lower parts of the village.
