Description

Nice little medieval village, Cobonne is nestled at the foot of the Vercors fortresses. In June 44, Cobonne was bombed and almost abandoned.
But since 1984, enthusiasts have been working on its rebirth with a concern for authenticity.

Cypresses, olive trees, fig trees and lavender : a very mediterranean vegetation of which the inhabitants of this little village particularly take care, embellishes Cobonne. Inside the ancient medieval battlements, flanked with round towers, thin paved streets pass along the gardens, sneak under vaulted passages, or climb toward old facades whose mullioned windows testify of the Renaissance period. Through small squares and paths, the peaceful sound of crystal-clear water flowing in old wash houses points out that Cobonne stands at the feet of the Vercors, the real water tower of the region.
