The farm opened in July 1994. There are 9500 square metres of glasshouses heated by thermal recuperation from the Eurodif plant; it is the largest tropical greenhouse open to visitors in France. There are 500 crocodiles (9 different species) and the pedagogical interest of this site prevails. Since 1998, a research laboratory has been added to the Crocodile Farm. Ten giant tortoises from the Seychelles, a protected species aged 30 years and weighing 80 to 150 kilos, have joined the crocodiles.
