Castle, Hospitallers command post, museum of Dauphinois Protestantism, book centre, three star hotel and prime mover.
Everything is here, in this village which one can safely say is the work one man, Yvon Morin a lover of art and light, and of old stones.
In order to quench his thirst for painting, this rebuilder of the village created the Raymond Dupuy Centre for Art and Events which puts on a different exhibition each year.
Today the former Command Post of the Knight's Hospitallers (Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem), restored under the supervision of a Bâtiments de France architect, occupies 4th place in the list of Drôme castles and châteaux.
As for the museum of Protestantism, it contains one of only two surviving examples of 17th century Protestant churches in France.
Finally, Le Poët Laval is also the history of a contemporary family: Yvon Morin's sons, Bernard and Philippe are, respectively, manager and sommelier (a graduate of the Université du Vin at Suze la Rousse) of the Hospitallers Hotel. Yvon's daughter, Mireille, manages the book centre.
Concerts on Fridays in the summer.
